Stephanie Sage Brecq is a harvard-trained filmmaker based outside NYC.

Steph was born in New Jersey before moving to New Mexico and Texas in early childhood returning to NJ in adolescence. She always had a passion for storytelling, joining an improv group in second grade which pulled her out of her shell and lead to a desire to understand those around her and hopefully make them laugh. She took on a rigorous schedule of academics and arts in middle and high school before attending Harvard College.

Steph’s complicated home life and struggles with mental health shaped her teen and collegiate years forcing her to take on invaluable healing and recognition of the world around her. She aims to leverage her open and passionate viewpoint into her art, displaying characters on screen which are rarely seen in such raw complexity. Steph’s senior thesis, Bittersweet Company exemplifies this goal.
